Albany Lantern Parade 2021

November 7, 2021 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm
  • « Clay Day Open Studio at Create Community Studios
  • Mopco Improv 101 »

We’re looking forward to gathering in person- safely, outdoors, with some changes- for the 6th Annual Albany Lantern Parade!

As in past years, we invite you to join in this simple celebration of light and community as we gather at sunset to walk with handmade lanterns in our historic park.

This event is free, accessible, and all are welcome.

Battery-operated tealights will be available for use during the walk.

Please be prepared to take COVID precautions. We encourage you to have a mask available and to allow for social distancing.

If you’d like to participate from home, please send us pictures of your own lantern walk!

In-person lantern making workshops will be limited this year, but the Albany Public Library is supporting this event yet again with lantern-making kits so you can create them with recyclables at home!

Where: Washington Park Lakehouse, Washington Park Albany, NY 12203    Take #905 bus from Washington Square Bus Station to Lark Station – Washington Ave & Lark St then walk 12 minutes to Washington Park

If you decide to go, highly encourage you to use CDTA bus app

When: Sunday, November 7th @ 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm

Cost: Free!

Restrictions: Please be prepared to take COVID precautions. We encourage you to have a mask available and to allow for social distancing.
