Dedicated in-person support services at SUNY Cobleskill and Hudson Valley Community College, and virtually at any college or university in the U.S.
CareerNext is a unique college support program designed specifically to help students with autism and learning differences. CareerNext students are enrolled at SUNY Cobleskill, Hudson Valley Community College or, through CareerNext CHOICE, at any U.S. college or university. CareerNext students have access to the professional, individualized guidance they need to succeed in college. And all take credited courses toward the goal of earning a Certificate, Associate or Bachelor’s degree of their choosing.
Is this the right college program for you?
Did you have an IEP or 504 plan in high school? Have you tried a standard college program but learned you’ll need some extra support to succeed?
CareerNext students work with a professional and experienced staff to develop and execute an individualized plan that provides the support and guidance they need to take accredited college courses. They also receive executive function support focused on developing skills and habits that will allow them to live independently.
CareerNext students are dual-enrolled at SUNY Cobleskill or Hudson Valley and are fully integrated members of the campus community. CareerNext CHOICE students enroll in virtual support services once accepted by any college or university in the U.S.

Do students stay in the program throughout their college career? Can they exit or transfer?
Students can remain part of the CareerNext program for the entire time they are working to earn a certificate or degree. At any time during their college career, if they feel confident and ready, they can choose to leave CareerNext and continue their academic program at their college or transfer as qualified to another college or university.
