No. CareerNext is not a residential support program. CareerNext provides academic tutoring and executive functioning support to students while they are pursuing their degree pathway.
While on-campus housing is available at SUNY Cobleskill, and off-campus housing options exist for students attending Hudson Valley Community College, all housing and residential supports are arranged and managed independently of CareerNext. CareerNext does not provide supervision, staffing, or supports related to residential living.
No. CareerNext does not provide noncredit life-skills or employment-focused instruction. The program is exclusively focused on supporting students’ success in credit-bearing college courses, with the primary goal of academic achievement.
To support this goal, CareerNext provides academic tutoring aligned to students’ credit-bearing coursework and offers executive functioning supports (such as organization, time management, and study strategies) that directly enhance students’ ability to meet college-level academic expectations.
Executive functioning refers to the set of cognitive skills that help individuals plan, organize, manage time, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively in order to meet academic and daily responsibilities.
Executive functioning supports encompass a broad range of strategies and assistance, including time management, organization, prioritization, and support with campus communication, all of which help students successfully navigate college expectations.
CareerNext CHOICE is the virtual delivery platform for CareerNext services. Students who are enrolled in colleges or universities other than SUNY Cobleskill or Hudson Valley Community College may access CareerNext supports remotely through the CHOICE program.
Through CareerNext CHOICE, students receive the same academic tutoring and executive functioning supports in a virtual format.
Families are invoiced at the start of each semester by Living Resources. Monthly payment plans are available.
